Open calculatorWhat this vertical covers
Most vehicle calculators in India answer one question: what will the EMI be. That is the easy half. The harder half is what the car costs every month after you drive it off the lot — fuel, electricity and the mileage you really get.
These three calculators cover that half. They take your pump price, your electricity bill and your measured mileage as inputs, because those numbers change by city and by month. The defaults are dated and sourced, and every one of them can be replaced with your own figure.
The result is a running cost per kilometre you can compare across a petrol car, an electric car or a public charger — and a payback estimate for the EV price premium that shows its assumptions instead of hiding them.
Worth knowing before you calculate
Running cost is energy cost, not EMI
Fuel and electricity are the recurring costs you control. Comparing two cars per kilometre is a better test than comparing their monthly EMIs, because it scales with how much you actually drive.
Petrol and electricity are inputs, not constants
Petrol is revised daily and electricity tariffs change by state and slab. Every calculator here starts from a dated default and lets you type the price on your pump or bill.
Measure mileage at the tank, not from the brochure
Test-cycle figures are useful for comparing models. Your real number comes from kilometres divided by litres over a full tank — which is exactly what the mileage calculator asks for.
