Why this set exists

What this vertical covers

Written for an Indian user, not a keyword counter

A farming decision usually comes down to three quantities: how many bags of fertilizer, how much seed, and what the crop will fetch. Official recommendations are written in kg of nutrient or kg per hectare, while the shop sells bags and the mandi buys quintals. These calculators do the conversions with the working shown.

Fertilizer grades and MSP rates are official rules, so they come from the Fertilizer Control Order and the CCEA announcements with the source linked. Yield, cost of cultivation and the actual price you get are yours to enter — the defaults are clearly labelled examples, not a promise for your field.

Before you calculate

Worth knowing before you calculate

01 · The credit

DAP already contains 18% nitrogen

Working out urea from the full N dose without crediting DAP's nitrogen over-applies N. The fertilizer calculator subtracts it automatically.

02 · The seed

Seed rate is per acre, adjusted for germination

Wheat at 100 kg/ha is about 40.5 kg/acre. A lot with 80% germination needs 1.25 times the base seed to get the same plant stand.

03 · The price

MSP is a support price, not a guarantee

MSP for marketing season 2026-27 ranges from ₹2,410 for maize to ₹8,780 for moong per quintal. Procurement at that price depends on crop and state.

Questions

Agriculture & Farming — frequently asked questions

How do I convert an NPK recommendation into bags?+
Convert each nutrient dose to fertilizer using the grade: urea is 46% N, DAP is 18% N + 46% P₂O₅, and MOP is 60% K₂O. Apply DAP first for phosphorus, subtract the nitrogen it carries, then top up with urea. The fertilizer calculator does the full sequence.
Are the seed rates official?+
The table rates come from the ICAR Kharif Agro-Advisory 2025 and are shown with the sowing method. Your state package of practices may differ for local varieties, spacing and rainfall — check it before sowing.
Which MSP should I use?+
Use the MSP for your crop and marketing season. The tables show the 2026-27 rates announced by the CCEA for the main kharif and rabi crops, and the MSP income calculator lets you type in your own rate.
Do the calculators include my costs?+
The MSP income calculator subtracts a cost per quintal, which you can change to your own. The yield calculator shows gross value only. Neither includes land rent, transport or commission unless you put them into the cost input.
Can I use these calculators for a small plot measured in gaj or bigha?+
Convert your plot to acres first using the plot area converter (1 acre = 43,560 sq ft), then enter the acre figure. The fertilizer and seed calculators accept decimal acres, so half an acre works.
Trust layer — why these pages are different

Every calculator, dated and sourced.

Each calculator on this page is generated from one verified record: its inputs, formula, tests, sources and the date the numbers were checked. When an official rate changes, the record changes and the page is rebuilt with a new verified date.
